When ART Meets FASHION

26 January 2017 was the date of the Paris fashion show of the couture creations of Maison Anouf. This year, Ylan Anouf not only shows us a new line of clothes, but also another face; the face of an artist and sculptor. His primary motif is one of the most important symbols of everyone’s childhood – “the teddy bear”, a symbol of hope, unconditional love, and limitless trust.

Ylan Anouf’s newest collection is inspired by his own art: painting and sculpture, which transfers us to a world where the present intermixes with childhood and the future…

The “When Art Meets Fashion” collection is not just black and white, but also experimental fluorescent colors – love, luck, and future. Expressive silhouettes inspired by the geometry of this artist’s own sculptures are reminiscent of glam rock. Finished with a rich array of luxury stones, cuffs, pop art sketches, three-dimensional concepts, technical animals, and comic book stories telling of the wishes and dreams of the artist and reflect the dreams of all.

The artist combines materials in a truly impressive way: leather with silk and denim, experimenting with different textures. These methods show a direction of modern sensitivity and open us up to a world of beauty seen by Maison Anouf.

Background music was handled by the DJ Seb Skalski; a composter and musical producer who composed two tracks which premiered at this event, and were performed by Nick Sinckler and Margarette Banka. Stylization and choreography by Maison Anouf’s collaborator, Bjorn Svenson. The event did was not lacking in famous French and international show business personalities. Among others, appearances by Madonna’s dancer and choreographer Brahim Zaibat, American pop icon and agent to stars such as 50 cent, Snoop Dog, and Paris Hilton – Mani Nordine, etc. French television stars, singers and soccer players were also present. ■
