Łukasz Milewski – Powerful beyond

Every one of us running this race we call life sometimes needs to stop and think, if the path we’re pursuing is really the right one for us. During our meetings, we give people the things that they rarely get to experience in their everyday life – faith and support in the ideal that everything is possible.
How on earth did such an idea as the “Life Without Limits” event come into existence?
Good question, I have been asking myself the same thing for the longest time. A group of us madmen came up with the idea that we would create the world’s largest gathering, which is neither a concert nor a football game. The idea stems from the desire to remove limitations. Our dream was to create something more than another standard convention. Our goal became to combine something that seems impossible – the world of the best performances – with art. What must be of course emphasized is that both are equally important for this event. Thus the first scenario for this great tale of dreams was born. Why? Every one of us running this race we call life sometimes needs to stop and think, if the path we’re pursuing is really the right one for us. During our meetings, we give people the things that they rarely get to experience in their everyday life – faith and support in the ideal that everything is possible.
What in your opinion is success?
Success is the luxury of being able to do what you love doing, which causes our everyday activity to become more than just a job. If additionally, to the enjoyment of what you do, you can support a family and stay healthy doing what you do, this is what I call real success. Most people on earth don’t feel fulfilled because they are not doing what they would like to do. The path to accomplishing such a life is not easy, but it is possible.
What is life without limits to you?
It means constantly working to discover man’s potential and how much humanity is really capable of. Too often do we live as if we are dictated by what others tell us or what we have come to believe in. “Life Without Limits” is the process by which we learn that it is not exactly as we perceive it to be, that there is something we can’t do. It is true that big dreams often require time and a great deal of hard work to bring them into fruition, but all is possible so long as we work toward our goals. “Life Without Limits” is currently the largest event of this type in the world, hosted in central Europe. It is a format, which event coordinators from all over the world have taken an interest in. Simply put, even though this mission does not sound lofty, the only way to find out what it is I speak of is to join us at the Tauron Arena on October 1st. This can’t be put into words; it needs to be experienced first-hand.
Do you have the impression that man is “more powerful than it appears”?
Mightier than what society attributes to him? Definitely yes, too often do we assume that our possibilities are limited based on our surroundings. Often enough, we find out that it’s enough to take one step further to discover that, among us, there are people who do some incredible things. It is enough to look to this year’s speakers at “Life Without Limits”. I am sure you know that these are not there by pure chance. Let’s take, for example, the story of Andrzej Cichocki – this amazing man dedicates most of his free time to helping those who have been abandoned by society – he is a prison priest. Look at Ava Brown, who worked like a slave for only food on a mango plantation in Jamaica – this woman’s story is simply unbelievable. Look at Nick, a giant with no arms or legs, and with no limitations. Do you need more proof? I doubt it.
I heard your book is coming out soon. What will we gain from it?
It is my autobiography, which I spent nearly 10 years writing. For many years, a lot had to happen before I felt comfortable writing about some things. It is a great tale of a fight against all odds in pursuit of dreams. It is my story, and each page of it was written by the experiences of my life. This is the most authentic motivation geared biography in the world. Nobody else has ever revealed so much of their lives and laid bare the most difficult times of their lives. I believe that it will help everyone understand that, so long as the “ball is in play”, all is still possible.
Do you not think the book is a bit controversial?
I believe it most certainly is. It many times over describes the brutal reality of my life and my company. But it could not be done differently. I believe that either you tell people the truth as it is or you should not be speaking at all. The world is full of silver tongued theoreticians who have not lived through any hardships, yet they speak as an authority on such things. Enough is enough.
How did you come up with the idea to write such a book?
I don’t know what to tell you. It simply happened. It was stronger than me. Throughout the years, so much happened in my life that, one day, the world simply demanded this story be told. I had no choice, this was simply more powerful than me.
How does it feel to meet and work with so many personally influential mentors on an everyday basis?
It is an honor and a gift to learn from such outstanding people as Nick Vujicic, Les Brown, or Anthony Robbins. The truth is, I cut my own path to this. I knew that it would be difficult to get in contact with such people just off the street. So I decided that I would do everything to get them to come to me. And this dream, even though it had cost me a great deal of effort and sacrifice, came true. I have the incredible situation of being able to say that some of these acquaintances became the truest friendships, such as my friendship with Les Brown. He is a truly remarkable man. ■
