I want to be a sportsman, mom, but not in USA

When we browse the web to find the list of the world’s most earning sportsmen, we can find the list by Forbes magazine, the top of which is held by Floyd Mayweather, a legendary and undefeated boxer of several weight categories.

What are the mistakes of sportsmen, which we do not avoid as well? Living beyond own means, spending more than we have. It especially concerns a situation when our incomes drop but we want to keep expenditures at the same level.  We start to borrow money, mainly from banks using credit cards, what can lead to a debt loop. Especially, when the financial liquidity starts to have a negative effect on timeliness of paying current bills. According to a survey by BIG InfoMonitor and ZBP, as much as 2.4 million Poles have problems with payment of liabilities.

Another thing is proper investments. It is the third year now since the start of the investigation against owners of Amber Gold but the case is still fresh for thousands of Poles.
Tel Aviv fights its way through
Soon, the newest report on the best ecosystems for new companies in the world is to be published. Although, the previous one did not bring any surprises and the first place was held by the Silicon Valley and 9 positions of the top ten were held by North American companies, now, there is a new player in the list – Tel Aviv. It’s not just the only city competing with the American and Canadian monopoly, but also boldly heads for the leadership
It has a great chance as Israel is proving that it is not only an ideal place for start-ups, especially those technologic, but , in general, a market of one of the most talented and innovative employees. It is worth to mention that without their support, it is strongly probable that we would not be able to buy Intel products. During the difficult time of „the arms race” of CPU suppliers, the Israeli market not only did rescue the company, but also put it strong for the rivalry with the biggest competition.
What makes Tel Aviv, and Israel in general, successfully compete with other ecosystems listed in the report? There are numerous answers but the most often are the army, which fast and practically teaches an early responsibility and an odd set of traits of the Israeli. What does „odd” mean? This is a mixture of assertiveness, impudence, critical view, self-reliance and arrogance. But all these traits are focused on the other aim than usually. This aim is to perfect already exsting solutions or creation of new ones by all means. Mooly Eden, one of vice-presidents at Intel, once said that: „it is more difficult to manage five Israeli than fifty Americans as they will challenge themselves all the time”. Need a proof that it works?  Intel has just announced that it is going to invest in Israel at least 550 million dollars by 2020…
The world’s easiest business? Franchise
Human nature makes that achieving successes is best when it comes fast, with no effort or without much work. Such
attitude, what may be surprising, is often observed in young businessmen, who have improbable ideas but do not translate them into really acting companies. It is said that using proven solutions enables at least a minimum of „resourceful laziness”. However, it is true that there is „no gain without pain”. Also in case of franchise i.e. the easiest business – easiest in the eyes of people who haven’t tried it.
Of course, there are numerous advantages of being a part of a franchise network. Most of all, we start business usinga known brand, known by a large group of customers. Additionally, we have lower costs of advertising (depending on the contract) as general campaigns are run all over the country or region.
Disadvantages are generally known as well but people tend to forget one issue. Looking at particular franchises and businessmen acting in them, we observe one thing which is crucial for their success – not going shortcuts and using own place, restaurant etc. as launched by oneself, what requires devotion of much time, who do not expect everything just because acting in a franchise network.
It is of course tempting. What are the main sins of franchisees? Most of all, using a low quality equipment or treatment.  Yes. There are franchise chains that regulate all issues only at the very general level, what sometimes results in incoherence in the image.  This is not the greatest mistake. What is worst is avoiding standards related with purchasing of products for gastronomy.  How many times have you eaten an underdone pizza with burnt cheese?…
Valuable does not mean rich  
Recently, I heard a conversation of two colleagues  who spoke about having an absolute glut of football. In the past, they could wait for some matches for few  days or weeks. Now, we can say that only the World Cup  is a football celebration, still organised  once per four years. Similarly, as competitions   for the best nations of   each continent. I know what they feel.  But such situation was unavoidable due to  globalisation and… the ordinary  will to earn money. What is surprising,  such situation and higher budgets can be achieved  by many clubs, especially their financial directors.
